Purple Blanket for Lindsey

We did this very cute blanket very last minute for a friend of mine. She had a baby girl, Lindsey, on the last day of August and they came down here for a visit. I had planned on making her a blanket all a long but I hadn't actually made it yet. When I found out they were in town I figured I had better get it done. So I enlisted the help of Steph and we got this blanket sewen in about 2 hours. I'm very happy with the way it turned out and this type of blanket is starting to become a signature of ours. The only thing I would have changed was the way the top stitching turned out but you can't even really see it in the picture so I guess it's not that bad.

Ballerina Princess Dresses

I wanted to make some beautiful pink and white dresses to have my girls pictures taken in after baby Isabella is born. I came up with the idea of using white and then having a embroidered organza overlay with some pink flowers. Unfortunately when we got to the fabric store there wasn't a embroidered organza with pink flowers to be found. So Stephanie came up with the idea of using tulle instead. At first I was skeptical because I really had a clear idea in my head of what the dresses should like. I thought it over and decided to go for the tulle and boy am I sure glad I did! I'm so happy with the tulle, I'm actually glad they didn't have an embroidered organza.
The patterns for these dresses were pretty simple but the construction of them turned out to be anything but easy. Just a simple dress with puffed sleeves and a gathered skirt with a tulle overlay, no problem, wrong! To start with the bodice is made out of silk so that right off the bat was a bit nerve wracking to work with. It turned out to be a pretty easy fabric to cut and sew but I didn't want to make a single mistake as it's not a cheap fabric. The most difficult part by far was working with the tulle. Tulle is nice because you don't have to hem it or worry about it fraying, however it is not fun to cut, pin or sew. It doesn't line up very easy at all and you have to fight it every step of the way. The pinning and gathering the tulle skirts turned out to be the most time consuming and stressful part of the whole project.

It was worth it though! Just look at these dresses they turned out just beautiful! I added some sparkles to the tulle to add that extra little touch.

I think they really are perfectly uber girly Ballerina Princess Dresses!
Kaitlin's Dress:

Isabella's Dress:

Kaitlin's Fairy Tale Pajamas

Two sets of pajamas for Miss Kaitlin. They are the same fairy tale toile fabric but one is green and one is pink. Stephanie planned this project and got it all cut out some time ago (I can't even remember when) and I finally got it all sewed up!

Baby Sleepers

Cute white baby sleepers (for Isabella) with pink snaps and pink top stitching. We made 4 total, 2 in each size.

Kaitlin's Tea Dress

Hibiscus Two Piece

Two Piece Hibiscus Outfit for the Baby.

Patchwork Quilt

I made the top of this quilt a long time ago (2005) for Stephanie when she was pregnant with Lucas. At the time we didn't know if Lucas was a boy or a girl. I made this with the intention of it being gender neutral to give to her baby. It turned out too feminine and baby turned out to be a boy! Since it's been sitting in my fabric basket forever, I decided I would get it finished for this baby so it could actually get some use. I did a pretty pink satin border on it. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Baby Quilt

Stephanie and I got the baby quilt finished up last night. I am absolutely in love with it! It turned out fantastic! Of course, once again, the pictures do not do it justice.

Decorative Pillows

I just finished a couple of decorative pillows for Kaitlin's bed.

I'm really happy with they way they turned out and I think they really add that extra something special!

Now I just have to finish the baby quilt and I'll be all done with the sewing projects for the girl's room.

Kaitlin's Quilt

I finally finished my daughter, Kaitlin's, quilt. Stephanie and I started this a long time ago and last night I actually managed to get it finished up. I'm in love with the pattern on this quilt the picture really doesn't do it justice!

Pink Cherry Outfit

Dress, Sweater, Diaper Cover & Headband

Kaitlin's May Dress

Well, I finally got Kaitlin's "May" dress done, now that it's the end of June!

Cherry Outfit

I made Kaitlin an outfit (shirt, shorts & hairbows) in the same cherry fabric to match the cherry romper. With all these matching pieces I should probably post a picture of the romper!

Cherry Blanket

I realized today, thanks to Stephanie, that I really need to get some sewing done. I really only have about 2 more weeks left before sewing just isn't really an option anymore!

I had this blanket almost done so I decided to finish it up. I made it to match a romper that I made last year for Kaitlin and am using again for this baby. It's not the best blanket I've every made by far. I'm not happy at all with the way the top stitching on the appliqué turned out. It will do the job though.

A Couple of March Dresses

Here are a couple of dresses we made this month for Kaitlin.

The top is her March Outfit/St. Patrick's Day. The bottom her is her Easter dress.

Hibiscus Dress

I love the hibiscus print on the fabric this dress is made from. I think this is going to be a wonderful dress for this summer.

Tulip Dress

I wasn't sure if I would like this dress or not but I think it turned out beautifully! I really love the cut of this dress. I may just have to make a few more dresses out of this pattern.

Kaitlin's February Dress

We finally finished the February dresses! It took us a while but we got them done. We actually had the dresses themselves finished a while ago but then we didn't get the zippers put in until last week. I'm glad we finally got them done!

Kaitlin's January Dress

Here's Kaitlin's January dress we made. It is identical (except in size) to the one we made for Stephanie's daughter, Aiyana. I think they turned out really cute, especially the jacket!
