A Thanksgiving Dress for Kaitlin

Some pretty fabric called Esence by Sandy Gervais + Simplicity pattern 3510 = An Adorable Thanksgiving Dress for my daughter, Kaitlin. I really like how this dress turned out. The pockets are absolutely adorable!

Happy Thanksgiving!

A Camping We Will Go

You may remember (or maybe not) back in June a made a cute felt barn toy that unfolded into a play set with lots of cute farm animals. Well now we have a cute felt box with mountains and trees...

The pattern for this adorable set came from the same etsy shop that the farm set came from, Bugga Bugs. I did make a few changes. The barn was really floppy even with the heavy interfacing so this time I used plastic canvas (per my friend, Stephanie's, suggestion) and it worked like a dream! Using the plastic canvas meant I had to hand stitch the whole thing so it took a little more time but I think it was well worth it. This set went to an adorable little boy for his 1st birthday. Happy Birthday, Landon! I hope you enjoy it!

Katy Kitty

Way back in April, I found a great pattern for some adorable little bunnies that I made my girls for Easter. The pattern is by Larissa of mmmcrafts. At the same time I also found that she had a cute little kitty doll called Katy Kitty. I knew when I saw it that I had to make one for my daughter, Kaitlin, for her birthday... in November. So when November got here I bought the pattern on Etsy and went shopping for fabric.

I knew I wanted to do the body out of corduroy (like the pattern calls for) and I fell in love with the gray. I wasn't sure what do for the rest but then I was walking across the store and I saw this wonderful pink, orange and gray flower print out of the corner of my eye. I stopped and picked it up. The more I looked at it the more I liked it. They rest of the fabrics just sort of fell into place. After sewing with Stephanie (of course) and then going home and sewing very late into the night before Kaitlin's birthday, I finished one very adorable Katy Kitty...
