Happy Mother's Day! ♥

Right now I'm at my mom's house celebrating Mother's Day with a family dinner!  (Let's here it for the schedule post option!)   This morning my kid's presented me with some adorable cards they made and got me a box of yummy chocolates (with help from my husband, of course.)  Christopher, my oldest, also made me the most adorable flower pot in school.

I made a little something for my mom as well.  It won't be much of a surprise since I had to ask her what she wanted but I'm still glad I was able to make her something.  She requested that I sew her a pouch to hold her glasses.  I did a little google search and found a really cute Sunglasses Case tutorial by Sew Fantastic.  It was a fun fast project that I really enjoyed doing!

I hope all the moms had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Shirred Dresses

I got the girls' shirred dresses done today.  Pre-Shirred fabric makes these super simple and I don't know why I haven't gotten them done before now.  Although, today has been the first really warm day that they could actually wear them so I guess I can use that as my excuse!

Isabella's (the green Tinker Bell one) was super easy it was already hemmed and ready to go.  All I had to do was sew up the back seam and I attached a purple ribbon as a tie.  Kaitlin's (the flower one) took a few more minutes.  I had to cut it a little shorter, sew up the back seam and hem it.  Then I used the part I trimmed off the bottom to make a tie for the dress.  Cute girls ready for Summer that is quickly approaching!

Whales & Turtles

I've finished my first two shop orders!  Yay! I got the whale gift set order done on Tuesday and the turtle appliqued blanket done on Wednesday.

I'm excited to have them done and in the mail!

Works In Progress

I have a bad habit of collecting sewing projects and then taking forever to actually sew them.  Here's a few of my works in progress that I have planned some of have been waiting for a few days, some a few weeks, and some a few months!

{1} Central Park:  I've had this fabric for a few months now!  I love it so much I even bought some yardage.  I plan on using this for {Make} A Bag Sew Along.  This is my first adventure using a Moda precut.

{2} Shirt For Me:  I really need to start using my sewing talents to make some clothes for myself.  My clothing wardrobe is rather sad and there is no excuse for it when I could be making myself clothes.  A few weeks ago I picked up New Look Pattern 6755 and some pretty fabric and decided I would make myself a top.  Now if I can just get it done soon then I can enter it in Made By Rae's Spring Top Sewalong!

{3} Shirred Dresses:  I really have no excuse for not getting these done!  I picked up these cute pre-shirred fabrics to make some quick dresses for the girls to wear this Spring/Summer.  Why haven't I made these yet?  It's just one seam and some straps for goodness sake!

{4} Pajamas for the Girls:  The girls are always needing new pajamas and I'm always finding fabrics that will work great for them.  I found this cute kitty fabric some time ago and bought it because I loved it.  I bought the cute mermaid fabric just a couple of days ago.  I also picked up New Look Pattern 6883 to use for some pajama pants.

With a little luck, I'll get busy and get a few of these done and you'll see them as finished projects in the next few weeks or so!

Shop Orders Sneak Peek

After opening my ETSY SHOP last week, I got two orders!  Yay!  Here's a little peek at them.

They are coming along nicely and are going to be done very soon!  So what are you all waiting for?  Place some more orders!  :)  I'm also working on a baby girl set for custom orders and some premade gift sets!  So watch for more shop updates!
