I got so incredibly behind in February, but it looks like March is starting to catch me up a bit! I finally got my pillow exchange pillows for my friend, Stephanie, done for both February and March. (I'm also about half done with April so that should be coming soon!)
First up is February, I kept it pretty simple and stuck with her color scheme of red, black and white. I knew she already had a lot of Valentine word art in the form of other pillows, so I just did a framed heart for the pillow. I also put some rhinestones on some of the white dimonds to give it a little more interest. I signed it on the back with a stitched signature. I really love the way this pillow turned out and would have totally used it in my own house (given a different color scheme.)
Next, we have the March pillow. When I asked her what she wanted for March she said she wanted a definition of the Irish ancestry of their last name: Hayes. I found this fabric and my local JoAnns that looked less St Patrick's Day and more Irish to me, so that's what I used for my color scheme. I really love how I did the button top closure on this one and I think I'll have to do it for more pillows. I had to add a few gold-ish rhinestones because that seems to be becoming a thing for me. Of course I finished up the back with a stitched signature!
After I finished this pillow up, I realized I should have moved the the Hayes and definition part down and centered it more but by the point I realized that, it was already way too late. Oh, well! I also had a little helper with the March Pillow...
... isn't Phantom just so helpful? Okay, maybe not but he sure is cute!
